History
IGNOU Regional Centre Delhi-3 was notified on 27th October 2008 to provide better services to the students and public residing in West Delhi and Gurugram District of Haryana. Dr. Rajender Gujral joined as first Regional Director on 18th December, 2008. Initially the Regional Centre was functioning from the premises of Regional Centre Delhi-1 and later moved in to F-634-636, Palam Extension,  Shaheed Ramphal Chowk, near Sector -7 Dwarka,  New Delhi 110077 in January 2010. Presently the RC is located in Delhi Library Association Building, Ranganathan Bhawan, C-Block, Community Centre, Naraina Vihar, New Delhi-110028. A dedicated Student Zone is created on the ground floor of the RC building for facilitating the students for Admission, Re-registration, Examination, Projects and for other necessary Academic Support Services. 

Regional Centre Delhi-3 has 22 Active Learner Support Centres comprising of 15 Regular Study Centres, 5 Programme Study Centres and 2 Jail Study Centres, offering a range of Programmes from Computer Sciences and IT  to  Management, Education, Health Sciences, Agriculture, Foreign Languages, Food Technology, Psychology and Performing Arts. There is a dedicated Learner Support Centre functioning from RC premises.
 
The territorial  jurisdiction  of the Regional Centre  Delhi-3 is as under:

Mundka, Nangloi Jat, Peera Garhi, Punjabi Bagh, Bakarwala, Meera Bagh, Moti Nagar,  Tilak Nagar, Tilangpur Kotla, Vikas Puri, Subhash Nagar, Uttam Nagar, Janak Puri, Najafgarh, Mahavir Enclave, Sagarpur, Dwarka, Palam, Palam Farms, Kapasera, Dhaula Kuan, Naraina,  Mahipalpur, Mansarovar Garden and Districts of Gurugram  and Mewat of Haryana State.
 
South West Delhi, West Delhi and Gurugram & Mewat districts of State of Haryana are an upcoming and high growth regions and the establishment of Regional Centre Delhi 3 has effectively contributed in catering to the educational requirements of this area.
